Powell handmade Conservatory flutes trace their ancestry to Mr. Powell’s first Commercial flute, made in 1928. The Conservatory model stands up to today’s stringent technical requirements and acoustical demands. The pinless mechanism offers smooth action, allowing technical passages to be played with precision. Played by professionals around the world, these instruments are prized for their colorful tone and dynamic range.

Created entirely of sterling silver, the Conservatory model offers a silver headjoint in a variety of cuts to suit each player’s individual needs. This model incorporates drawn tone holes, pointed key arms, 10k gold springs, and a pinless mechanism to create an instrument that meets the exacting standards of the professional flutist. The Conservatory model is available with inline or offset G key options, standard (.016”) or heavy (.018”) tubing, split E mechanism, C# trill key, D# roller, and winged headjoint.
