Designed and overseen by David Rejano (Principal Trombone, Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra), Rejano Mutes set out to solve issues that plague traditional practice mutes, such as a heavy weight, unstable pitch, excessive resistance and insufficient muting.
The innovative 3D printed designs weigh only 4 ounces for tenor trombone and 8 ounces for bass trombone, allowing longer practice sessions. Rejano mutes are made from durable materials, including a cork alternative that won't break down as quickly. These mutes offer a resistance that mimics the feel of playing without a mute in addition to a stable pitch.
Rejano Mutes are manufactured in California.

Rejano practice mute
Probably the best practice mute, I've tried most of them. Seems to have the least blowing resistance, a major drawback to the other practice mutes. It's a bit flimsy, even a short drop can break it, so be careful as it is expensive. I dropped mine and the face piece came unfastened. I needed the mute quick and Schmitt shipped it quick. I would rate the mute a 4 as it does have some blowing resistance and tone distortion (practice mutes are a "lesser of the evils" scenario in my view) but because Schmitt turned my order around quick I'm going with a 5. The demo vids were a Schmitt added value feature as well.
