The Joseph Alessi Q Series Artist Model Tenor Trombone has been crafted with Mr. Alessi to offer an exceptional instrument at an affordable price. Similarly to the Custom Series model, this instrument features a revolutionary combination of materials and construction to produce the perfect balance of color, efficiency, and resonance. The QAlessi bell features an unsoldered, two-piece, light-weight yellow-brass bell which allows this instrument to easily project while maintaining a broad and warm sound. The newly designed Alessi Q Series rotary valve features a gold brass F-attachment slide to create depth and density of sound coupled with the clarity and stability of a rotary valve. A gold brass tuning slide similarly adds complexity and warmth to the sound of this instrument.

Includes Q Series tenor trombone case, mouthpiece, and care kit
We find the Q Series Alessi to be a very efficient instrument with a huge sound and a very natural classical/orchestral response. It has a nice weight to it's response, is buttery-smooth in moving between partials and very easy-playing in the middle to upper registers. At soft dynamics it is dark without becoming muddy and at upper dynamics it gains a bit of brilliance but maintains a huge dark core and great stability. We found the lower, and especially trigger, registers need more care with airflow; if one dials back on the airspeed these registers speak easily but tend to back up and get edgy and unstable if the air is forced. Overall we find this to be a very natural-playing instrument with a wonderful orchestral sound, great response throughout the registers and beautifully nimble!
